The Palate Patrol took Señor Wiener by storm this week. We learned upon entering to lighten up, have a sense of humor & never say “hot dog”. They sell wieners! Here’s what the Patrol had to say: Mark J.: I was never allowed to eat Corn Dogs at the State Fair as a kid. All I heard was, “Mark, you’ll throw up on the Tilt-A-Whirl again if you eat that”! So, today nobody could keep me from ordering a Corn Dog & man was it goo-ood! I also ordered mini wieners which I was enjoying until I heard they were only for children. Mary S.: The Aloha Wiener was my choice – this concerned me because I don’t like spicy wieners. It paid off… I never knew I’d be able to completely devour one entire Hawaiian wiener. The staff was nice & let me stand under Señor Wiener’s hat & hug on him for awhile. If you have not been to this new restaurant, do yourself a favor & stop in for tons of fun & great food! Ted – we voted to make you an honorary member of our team. It doesn’t matter what the others write, especially if they can’t spell your name right! Dee J.: I must like wieners because I’ve been back to this place 3 times and they just opened Nov. 1! The Corn Dog was fabulous & the Chili gets my vote for the best in town by a long shot. Some places only provide good food, but no fun or vice versa. Señor Wiener has a variety of tasty food, a staff with a willing attitude & an atmosphere that will make your group laugh until you cry.
John R.: I built my own Wiener concoction w/a little horseradish, bacon, cheddar cheese & BBQ Sauce. It turned out incredible!!! I think my Wiener should be considered as a new menu item…maybe call it the Cowboy Wiener or the BBQ’ed Cheesy Wiener. That’s what I truly enjoyed about this place, it allows customers to be creative & silly while still getting great food. Scott W.: Since I’m a tall drink of water & can afford some meat on my bones, I covered my Wiener w/gravy – amongst several other toppings. My favorite part was the gift area, where I spotted several options to put on my Christmas list. If you’re in a giving mood I’m a 36X34, XL shirt & my sign is Sagittarius. Since that sounds like a pitch for dating… my likes are Señor Wiener & my dislikes are the word ‘loaf’, bats & very loud children. You can tell that Señor Wiener was a favorite of the Patrol. Something diners have not figured out quite yet is that you can build your own Salad, Nachos or Fries with multiple choices of cold or hot toppings. You don’t just have to eat Wieners to love this place. There’s no skimping & the toppings are fresh & delicious! We’ll be back to cheer John on when he attempts the WIENER CHALLENGE! 3504 W. 41st St., Sioux Falls, SD 57106 • (605) 221-4191 Hours: Sun.-Thurs. 11AM-9PM; Fri. & Sat. 11AM-3PM WIENER CHALLENGE - “Unbeaten Yet”
